If you are viewing this from your desktop, you are not seeing double. Today's 'highlight' pic is also my new sidebar image for the blog! I did some editing last week because there were important changes to be made. Like: I updated my 'About' page because...I am a senior!!! Presently, I am still coming to grips with that little fact, but no worries, I am coping nicely. I also linked my VSCO to the sidebar for no reason except to balance out the sidebar's social media accounts, so you can follow or you can ignore. I'm totally unfazed by and understanding of your decision!
Does anyone ever get the urge to buy a new outfit to wear for a special event? This dress was not for any specific event, but I bought this dress to be worn at the festival because I wanted to wear something more than a t-shirt and shorts. A.K.A., my college uniform. While I initially felt self-conscious about wearing this (No one in my hometown ever gets this dressed up...We tend to be mellow and understated around here, which is fine and dandy.), I convinced myself that being different is okay. You may get a ton of stares, but if you feel happy, you feel happy. I saw this dress, thought it was the loveliest, and I had to have it. When I tried it on, I immediately felt giddy. That is what matters. Furthermore, maybe my outfit will inspire others to transform the Sweet Onion Festival into a Coachella-like event. That would be amazing.
Additionally, I love a good red lipstick, but I have trouble finding the perfect color (Seriously, if they made sample tubes of lipstick, I would take one of each because buying lipsticks is normally a guessing game for me.). For example, to achieve this shade, I mixed two shades of Revlon. Perhaps the highlight of my day that weekend: My mom, sister, and I visited a French flea market that festival weekend, and the ladies operating the store made the comment that I looked much like a French girl. My. Day. Was. Made. Needless to say, when I book my flight to France, I am bringing this number.
Sidewalk art! I feel like every year, they add a new dimension to the festival. This year, they held a sidewalk chalk art competition, so the downtown streets were littered with neat sidewalk art that made for nifty feet pictures.
This week, I began studying for the LSAT and GRE. I have decided to approach both tests by setting aside time to study each day. It seems most logical and I hope this method allows me to retain the information more. I also shadowed my third lawyer this week, and I must admit, they sell their professions well. With every shadowing opportunity, I am even more swayed that hopping into law school is a savvy idea. Nonetheless, I have evened the scales between law school and grad school again. Stay tuned for the final decision expected in Spring 2019! Haha!
Funnel cake and freshly-squeezed lemonade. Currently starving for the same setup.
On Tuesday, I bought my first book for the summer semester. Intro to Philosophy. At the outset, I am disinterested in the topic, but hopefully, it will grab my attention. One thing that has always surprised me about college is: Any class but math, will usually grab my attention, whether I expect it to or not. Lastly, I am going to link my dress and two Revlon lipsticks below. I am not sponsored, but I am just mentioning them in case you are curious. Have a fantastic week and Happy Mother's Day to all the cool moms in the world!
