Hi! I have been MIA, but I have some good news to share.
First, my stress is beginning to evaporate…which is GREAT! I feel better, especially after being knocked out by a stress-induced cold, and I feel energetic…like I could run a marathon. And, I would never run a marathon, so life is calm, cool, and collected.
Second, I submitted applications for grad school today! That was a big weight removed from my shoulders. Tons of thoughts were rolling through my mind before, during, and after this process, so I am relieved it is done. The graduate school process has been an investment, monetarily (Yes, really.), mentally, physically, and emotionally. However, the process is out of my hands at his point, and whatever happens, happens. In fact, whatever happens, I will not be made aware of until late January or February. So, I am taking a deep breath and putting the journey into cruise control. That is all I can do at this point.
Third, I presented my research at my very first conference! It was nothing short of a nerve-wracking experience, but I did it. I met two professors and a grad student from an institution I applied to, and they seemed enthusiastic that I was applying! Furthermore, one of the professors is working on a project that is related to my research, so even better news!
This Thanksgiving Break, I am writing a few papers for class and prepping for final exams. It is almost too hard to believe that I am graduating next semester. I am a senior. Time has flown, my future is one giant question mark, but I am at peace with that. There is power in being flexible and quick on one’s toes. So, I am.
Next week, I be taking a break from the blog, which I have neglected for quite some time (So, joke is on me.). But, this time, I do have a legitimate reason. I am going to feast and give thanks! I hope you have a bright weekend and warm Thanksgiving!
