If you are reading this, you navigated the site successfully, and I forward my congrats! I did a little web re-designing over the holiday weekend! The old design gave me little option for customization, but with this newer, more free design, I get the chance to be a bit more creative. I am in love with it so far, and I can foresee it affording me greater opportunities at expanding content in the future. I also think I might do a some digging into template designs, but this is a general idea of how I want the site to appear to viewers/readers (If you are curious, I am looking for an excerpt option instead of the whole story appearing. In essence, it will load quicker!...And it adds suspense, haha!). So, there is definitely room for more re-designing. Additionally, I changed my Instagram theme. I wanted more vibrancy in my photos, and while it bothers me to see an obvious difference between the photos, with time I hope the blue theme fades...
Since we are on the topic of themes, I investigated video editing software. I am interested in the prospect of creating videos of travels/adventures (Although, I laugh, what travels/adventures?). While I would love to possess the Adobe editing software, which offers a package deal of graphic design, photo editing, and video editing, I want something that is cheaper and more manageable. I want to start small, learn the tricks of the trade, and work my way up. I am particularly interested in Corel software, which has a one-time price in a photo + video editing bundle. The photo editing addition to the bundle would create consistency in my content and a more professional approach to image editing. Therefore, my interest has been peaked, and I will certainly be doing more investigations.
So in a breakdown of this week, one word. Traumatizing. For starters, I should have read more over the weekend. Nothing is better than the feeling of going to my apartment after a day of class and resting. Just resting. I have not exactly had a week of that, and it is mea culpa. I felt almost out of touch in many of my classes because my focus jumped to upcoming assignments. I forgot, rather quickly, that planning for the future is impossible if the present is not satisfied. I think that is what I need to be. More present. It goes back to my self-aware resolution for New Year's. I am going to get there. Eventually. Hopefully, I will have the entire weekend to catch up and take off again.
Snow was in our forecast on Wednesday, but we (Statesboro) received none. Honestly, I can say that I am grateful that it did not with regards to the fact I have never driven in snowy/icy conditions. Crazy enough, it is one of the decisions that sits in the back of my mind regarding grad/law school. While I would love to explore and navigate a different atmosphere, is a significant difference in weather really worth it? I get chills thinking about teen and twenty-degree weather in the North. The state of Georgia receives snow, the southern half of Georgia rarely sees this snow, and the temperatures are ideal with regards to leaving home and being proactive throughout the day. Anything below forty and I am officially numb. The weather up North, where the high is less or around thirty degrees for numerous days, would steal my breath and slow my productivity. It is silly to weigh such factors, but it makes my bones ache to think about extremely cold weather. I love snow, I love the South when it chills, but freezing temperatures and ankle-deep snow falls (sometimes more) is frightening. Kudos to those brave, northern souls that battle the elements.
Oh, and as for this picture, it was taken last year. It was one of the most magical sunsets I have witnessed, and rarely do I ever see one such as this.
Have a jam-packed, butt-kicking, and colorful weekend!
